A decade of trusted service. A quarter-century of expertise.
Emergency Management Experts
Messana Group has delivered emergency training since 2016. Our founder's experience in the industry goes back to 1999. We bridge the gap between compliance requirements and genuine workplace preparedness.
Our Story
Our journey in emergency management began long before Messana Group was formally established. Since 1999, our founder has been immersed in the emergency management industry—gaining hands-on experience across both Australia and New Zealand.
Growing up in Taranaki, New Zealand, earthquakes were a regular occurrence. Watching the house wobble during seismic events created an early understanding of how real emergencies affect real people—and how important it is to be prepared.
This Trans-Tasman experience—spanning over 25 years across both countries—provides Messana Group with unique insight into emergency management practices across Australasia. We understand the similarities and differences in regulatory frameworks, workplace cultures, and emergency risks on both sides of the Tasman.
In 2016, Messana Group was formally established with a clear purpose: to bridge the gap between emergency compliance requirements and genuine workplace preparedness. We had seen too many organisations treat emergency management as a paperwork exercise. Evacuation diagrams gathered dust on walls. Fire extinguishers sat unused and unfamiliar. Employees hoped they would never need to act because they were not confident they could.
We knew there was a better way. From our first training session, we committed to practical, hands-on emergency education that transforms uncertain employees into confident responders. Not because regulations demand it, but because people's safety depends on it.
Ten years later, that commitment remains unchanged. What has changed is our reach. From a single Queensland office, we have grown to serve organisations across Australia and New Zealand with locations in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the ACT, South Australia, Western Australia, and Auckland.
Our Mission
Preparing and Empowering People for Emergencies
Every service we provide, every training session we deliver, every plan we develop serves this mission. We measure success not by certificates issued but by the confidence we build in the people we train.
Our Values
Practical Over Theoretical
Real emergencies do not pause for you to consult a manual. Our training emphasises hands-on practice and muscle memory. When your heart is racing and adrenaline is flowing, the skills we teach will be there.
Customised Over Generic
Your office building has different risks than a warehouse, a hospital, or a school. We assess your specific environment and create solutions that address your actual risks, not hypothetical ones.
Partnership Over Transaction
Emergency management is an ongoing responsibility. We build long-term relationships with our clients, providing annual compliance support and adapting your programs as your organisation evolves.
Excellence Over Adequacy
Meeting minimum compliance requirements is straightforward. Building genuine emergency capability requires expertise, experience, and dedication. We pursue the latter.
Founder & Head Trainer
Jason Tait
Jason founded Messana Group in 2016, but his career in emergency management stretches back to 1999. Growing up in Taranaki, New Zealand — where earthquakes were a regular occurrence — he developed an early understanding of how real emergencies affect real people, and how important it is to be prepared.
Over more than 25 years, Jason has delivered thousands of training sessions across Australia and New Zealand. He has worked with property managers, aged care facilities, schools, hospitals, government departments, and corporate offices — adapting his approach to each environment while never compromising on practical, hands-on delivery.
Jason's Trans-Tasman experience gives Messana Group a unique perspective. He understands the regulatory frameworks, workplace cultures, and emergency risks on both sides of the Tasman, from AS3745 compliance in Australia to NEMA-aligned seismic preparedness in New Zealand.
His philosophy is straightforward: emergency training should prepare people for reality, not just satisfy a compliance checkbox. Every session Jason delivers is designed to build genuine confidence — so that when an alarm sounds or the ground shakes, your people know exactly what to do.
